Teemu Selanne played his final regular season game on Sunday at the Pond, and he was given all of the respect he deserves as one of the NHL's greats. Teammates kept feeding him the puck, fans cheered every time he took the ice, and even my personal favorite Paul Kariya made an appearance. After the game, Selanne was named as all 3 Stars of the Game, shook the hands of the Avalanche, took an emotional lap around the ice, and even got "Giggy With It" with old teammate Jean-Sebastien Giguere for a final lap around the ice. Pretty awesome moment for both of them.
Hopefully the Ducks can secure Selanne another championship starting tonight with the first game of the playoffs versus the 8th seed Dallas Stars. I'll be at the Pond in spirit, but I'll actually be right behind the Angels dugout across the street for another bullpen collapse.
