The NHL GMs and NHLPA have approved a proposal of 3-on-3 for 5 minutes of overtime. It's now up to the Board of Governors to vote on it for final approval and implementation for the 2015-2016 season. This change stems from a general hatred for shootouts, which I sort of understand. I know I'm not alone saying that I'm extremely excited for FREE HOCKEY next season. 5 minutes in any way resembling the insanity in the video above will be the most exciting event in sports.
