Pujols Done for the Season

So I guess this is news... Albert Pujols is out for the rest of the season.  I just don't quite get how this wasn't understood already.  The Angels folded up shop after that fiasco in Arlington with 3 consecutive walk-off HRs.
To say Season 2 of the Albert Pujols experiment for the Angels has not gone as planned would be a hilarious understatement.  Career lows in games played, RBIs, HRs, batting average, on-base percentage, and slugging make it hard to foresee what next season has in store for the Halos.

This article written just before the trade deadline was basically an indictment of Angels upper management.  Seeing Greinke light it up for the Dodgers while Jean Segura was a rookie All-Star for the Brewers is enough to make Angels fans angry, but the Vernon Wells trade(s) have been unconscionable.  Paying Vernon Wells $72 million for 2 seasons should go down as top 5 worst moves in the history of baseball.  The one thing this article forgets is that we gave up Patrick Corbin & Tyler Skaggs for a Dan Haren rental as well.  Maybe next year, the author can add this as the third-worst trade, with Josh Hamilton & Joe Blanton bringing up the rear as the fourth & fifth-worst.

Honestly, who is in charge of the Angels pitching scouting?  My sister could tell you Blanton was finished, yet he is still coming out of the bullpen.  Am I the only one watching?

UPDATE - Blanton came in during the 14th inning and promptly gave up 3 of the total 5 runs on the night.  I would rather have Scioscia pitch.
