RadarOnline
- After signing a one-year contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers for $1
million, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned that pitcher Brian Wilson could
make more than his entire season’s salary — by simply shaving his trademark
beard off. Razor blade company, 800Razors.com, has been in negotiations
with the 31-year-old baseball pro to have him shave off his beard and they’ve
offered him a lucrative 7-figure deal. “His management feels we need to match his present
salary of $1 million at a minimum,” said CEO Philip Masiello.
First off, I
don’t think this is actually going to happen, but if it does, you may be witnessing the
beginning of the end for Brian Wilson. Dollar Shave Club already has this entire market on lockdown. I doubt 800Razors.com can even make
a dent.
Also, take
a look at this picture of him clean shaven.
That is basically a picture of John Doe.
Wilson understands marketing better than we think he does, so he knows
how well the beard plays. The only way I
could get behind this marketing campaign is if he keeps the beard the whole time, strictly for
the irony.
